650cc Royal Enfield Bike Spotted Cruising at 130kmph; India Launch Next Year

As per the earlier commitment of presenting new models to our country, Royal Enfield is currently working on a slew of motorcycles, and among them all, there is a 650cc cruiser motorcycle that has been spotted several times while road testing. Now once again, the forthcoming bike has been spotted, this time near ECR in Chennai city. The latest spy image is a credit to auto enthusiast Deepthi, who claimed the test mule was cruising at over 130kmph.

In the spy shot, we are able to see the bike properly thanks to its non-camouflaged look. As we have already reported earlier, the bike was anticipated to be showcased at the recently held 2021 EICMA, but that didn’t go as planned and instead, the bikemaker presented another concept motorcycle named SG650. Now, the bike is most likely to hit the Indian market by next year.

While speaking of the forthcoming Super Meteor’s design and styling, this bike shows off a typical cruiser with neo-retro design ideas. Some noteworthy design highlights include a round headlight, split-seats, dual exhaust in chrome finish, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and wider rear fenders. Moreover, the rearview mirrors seem to be aftermarket ones because the stock units were in a circular shape. In addition, the grab rails are incorporated into the back support for the pillion rider.

The spotted test mule also didn’t seem to have the front windscreen. The sitting posture also offers comfortable riding with the low seat, forward-set footpegs and a wide-pulled back handlebar. In terms of powertrain, the 650 Super Meteor will use the same 648cc parallel-twin, an oil-cooled engine that is currently used in the Interceptor and Continental GT. This engine is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and is capable of generating 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque.
