650cc Royal Enfield Twins now command a waiting period of 3-5 months in some of the cities in India. The demand is higher for more expensive chrome and custom paint options in comparison to the base shades on both the motorcycles. The price for Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 starts at INR 2.50 lakh while Continental GT 650 costs INR 2.65 lakh. As per the latest details available, Royal Enfield is planning to increase the production of the 650cc Twins from 2,500 units a month to 4,500-5,000 units a month.
The chrome variant demands an increase of INR 20,000 on both the bikes. The shade options for Interceptor 650 include Mark Three, Silver Spectre, Orange Crush, Baker Express, Ravishing Red and Chrome while Continental GT 650 comes in Black Magic, Ventura Blue, Ice Queen, Dr Mayhem and Chrome. The most expensive variant is priced at INR 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
The 648cc, twin-cylinder engine on the motorcycle is good for 47 HP at 7250 rpm and 52 Nm at 5250 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The 650 Twins are available with a top speed of over 160 kph. The bikes weigh over 200 kg with filled fuel tanks. The impressive 320mm front disc and dual-channel ABS brings satisfactory braking for the buyers.
