BS6 Royal Enfield Himalayan to Get 2 New Features

According to a recent report, the BS6 Royal Enfield Himalayan will come packed with two new features that include a switchable ABS unit in addition to a hazard switch for the convenience of the rider. We have already seen the updated 2020 BS6 Classic and Thunderbird models being tested on the Indian roads earlier. Apart from the new Thunderbird and Classic range, the brand will also introduce the BS6-compliant Bullet series in the coming months.

BS6 Royal Enfield Himalayan to Get Rock Red Color

At the Milan Motor Show 2019, the brand showcased three new colour schemes for the Royal Enfield Himalayan and as per the latest buzz, the Indian market will get the new colours with the introduction of the BS6 model. What is positive about the latest update is that irrespective of the new colour options, the 2020 Himalayan model will receive switchable ABS and hazard light feature.

The benefit of a switchable ABS unit is that it gives the rider more control of the motorcycle when the tarmac gives up on the rider. It provides the rider with the flexibility to be able to easily turn off the ABS and lock the rear wheel of the motorcycle in order to bring it to a halt if it is in a tricky situation.

BS6 Royal Enfield Himalayan to Get Lake Blue Color

The benefit of hazard lights is that they make the bike more visible if the rider is riding in some extreme weather conditions where the visibility is low. As mentioned earlier, the Himalayan is expected to be offered in three new colour options namely Rock Red, Lake Blue, and Gravel Grey, which are expected to retail parallel to the already retailing colour options.

BS6 Royal Enfield Himalayan to Get Gravel Grey Color

In order to stir excitement among its customer base, Royal Enfield is also expected to introduce some new accessory options with the updated BS6 model. Speaking of the mechanical details, the BS6 Himalayan is likely to be powered by the same 411cc, single-cylinder, air-oil cooled engine though, the brand is expected to tune the output to make the engine BS6-compliant. The BS4 version of this engine is capable to generate 24.5HP of peak power and 32Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
