Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Edition is the most awaited special edition for 2018. Here is the first set of live Pegasus photos, clearly showing how Royal Enfield has turned a 2018 model into this typical retro-finished success story. The paint looks old-school and creates an impressive illusion of being from the last century.
Royal Enfield calls this shade Service Brown, while the other one (Olive Green) is not available in India. They will bring a total of 250 units for India and rest 750 will be delivered to various other markets. The company has earlier failed twice to organize an online sale for Pegasus Edition as a high number of users resulted in a website crash both the times.
The brand was actually not prepared for such a huge number of applicants. The Pegasus Edition is based on regular Classic 500. The list of differences that you will find on both bikes includes a color-coded engine cover, black engine and exhaust, twin saddlebags, Pegasus emblem on the fuel tank, unique RE logo, color-coded handlebar grips and unique number posted on the fuel tank.
The base of both rims stays black while wires used here are finished in chrome. Royal Enfield will soon announce another event for its sale online. The Pegasus Edition is inspired by The Flying Flea, a second world war era motorcycle, that can be dropped from a plane and rode in enemy boundaries. It was manufactured by Royal Enfield and came with a 125cc engine.
It was light, fast and very reliable for its time. Through this special edition model, the brand celebrates the success of an older model that entered the pages of history for its capability. Royal Enfield Classic 500 is powered by a 499cc, single cylinder engine producing 27.2 BHP and 41.3 Nm of torque. Each unit for Pegasus Edition is priced at INR 2,49,000 (On-Road Mumbai).
