Royal Enfield Offering Free Gifts to Classic Pegasus Owners in India

Royal Enfield Classic Pegasus owners received an unexpected gift from the motorcycle brand. Each owner has been gifted a Pegasus Jacket, Pegasus label-pin, exclusive Pegasus helmet with the exclusive number, and a Pegasus bag through the courier. The controversy emerged when a couple of owners complained that Royal Enfield cheated them by delivering a motorcycle that lacks ABS and costs much more than the INR 2 lakh worth model with ABS. The other problem was stickering on the Classic 350 Signals that made them feel bad for the stencil format seen on their Classic Pegasus models. The special edition model was available for INR 2.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The recently gifted items collectively cost around INR 15,000. The gesture was a positive signal from Royal Enfield as they even announced earlier that Classic Pegasus owners could exchange their motorcycle for any other model, even including the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. All they had to do was pay the remaining price and wait for the deliveries. Pegasus owners took various steps to show their anger, with extreme cases of dumping the motorcycle in garbage coming to light in those days. Some reacted through YouTube and shared videos of their grief with other Indian riders and owners.

Royal Enfield Signals was the first model to get ABS in India. Soon, the launch of 500cc models with ABS further ignited the issue as buyers accused Royal Enfield of having ABS but intentionally missing the same from the Indian Pegasus model. The unique shade further started looking common in between the new shades offered on the Classic 350 Signals Edition. The 499cc engine was available in the same tune as regular RE bikes. The option of going for Classic Stealth Black was great for that moment as it was the first version to offer ABS in the 500cc segment.
