BS6 Royal Enfield Classic 350 (Current-Gen) Starts Reaching Dealerships

The BS6-compliant model of the current-gen Royal Enfield Classic 350 has finally started reaching the authorized dealerships ahead of the official launch in the coming days. As we reported earlier, the launch of the next-gen Royal Enfield motorcycles has been delayed by a few months.

Earlier, the all-new 2020 models were expected to make an official entry into the Indian motorcycle segment before the implementation of the new emission norms in the country on April 1. Since the new emission norms will commence in India from April 2020, the brand has decided to update its existing 350cc Classic range to meet the stricter BS6 emission norms.

Along with making the current-gen Classic 350 BS6-compliant, Royal Enfield has also equipped the motorcycle with alloy wheels in addition to offering new colour schemes. As visible in the latest set of leaked photos, the BS6 model of the current-gen C350 has been offered an all-black colour scheme with two different styles for the placement of the Royal Enfield logo on the fuel tank.

The mechanical specifications of the updated Royal Enfield Classic 350 will include a BS6-compliant version of the existing 346cc, single-cylinder engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 19.8Bhp and 28Nm of peak torque. The engine of the motorcycle must have been upgraded with the Fi (fuel injection) technology to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms.

The 346cc air-cooled engine will remain mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The updated model of the Classic 350 is expected to launch in the Indian market in the coming days. As far as the pricing is concerned, the BS6 model of the current-gen 350cc Classic is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 1.60-1.65 lakh.

The next-gen Royal Enfield Motorcycles have been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. Since the motorcycles have been equipped with noticeable designing tweaks, a double-cradle frame as well as a new overhead camshaft design for the engine, one cannot anticipate how the brand plans to acquire good sales for the current-gen BS6-upgraded motorcycles when the all-new 2020 range will launch within a few months itself.
