As expected, the first BS6 Royal Enfield motorcycle has been launched in India. After being spotted several times ahead of the official launch, the most anticipated BS6 Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been launched by the brand at a starting price tag of INR 1.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings of the updated motorcycle have been already commenced at selected dealerships at a token amount of INR 10,000.
The updated motorcycle will now be available in two new special colour schemes namely Stealth Black and Chrome Edition. Both these shades are equipped with tubeless tyres and alloy wheels as standard. In addition to these two colours, the motorcycle will be available in three more options namely Standard, Signals Edition and the Gunmetal Grey Edition, which feature tube-type tyres and spoke wheels.
To meet with the upcoming BS6 emission norms, the motorcycle has been equipped with a catalytic converter that is packed inside the canister. In addition to that, the BS6 Classic 350 is also equipped with an oxygen sensor. The exhaust muffler, on the other hand, has also been redesigned and now features a larger heat shield. In addition to this, the instrument console on the updated motorcycle now features a low fuel warning indicator as well as an engine malfunction indicator.
Coming to other cosmetic changes, the Gunmetal Grey colour variant of the motorcycle has just been revised with the addition of alloy wheels while all other body panels have been kept similar to the last-gen BS4 variant. On the other hand, the Stealth Black colour of the motorcycle features an all-black colour scheme with red accents on the alloy wheels as well as the red Classic 350 and brand logos.
Standing apart among all the new special colour variants is the Chrome Edition which offers the motorcycle a unique look with chrome body panels as well as tan brown seats. In addition to this, the chrome edition of the first BS6 Royal Enfield motorcycle has been equipped with spoke wheels while the brand logos have been offered a light-gold colour.
Powering the BS6 Royal Enfield Classic 350 is a 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. Royal Enfield has not yet revealed power and torque figures of the BS6 Classic 350 while the BS4 model is capable of offering maximum power of 20HP and a peak torque of 28Nm. The engine remains mated to a 5-speed transmission. As per the details available, the BS6 model will be more refined and smooth due to the addition of the electronic fuel injection.
