A new variant of the much-awaited next-gen Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X has been recently spotted testing on the Indian roads. As per the latest spy photo, the variant you see here is expected to be a more affordable version of the next-gen TB 350X as it doesn’t feature split seats. This means that Royal Enfield would be offering multiple variants of the upcoming motorcycle to cater different set of customers.
Coming to the other updates offered to the next-gen Thunderbird 350X model, the brand has equipped the motorcycle with a new headlamp and tail lamp design in addition to offering redesigned side panels, fuel tank as well as the rear fender. Based on a double downtube frame, the entry-level model of the upcoming cruiser will feature a single-piece seat setup.
Apart from the cosmetic changes, the brand has also equipped the next-gen Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X with an all-new single-pod semi-digital instrument panel which will replace the twin-pod cluster seen on the current-gen variant. The fuel injection system, on the other hand, has also been equipped with a newly redesigned cover for extra protection.
Royal Enfield is expected to launch the BS6-compliant models of the current-gen Thunderbird 350 and 350X in the coming days while the next-gen models are expected to launch in India after June 2020. In terms of pricing, the updated 350cc motorcycle is expected to get a premium of INR 15,000-20,000 in comparison to the current-gen variant, which is presently available in the market at a price tag of INR 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
Some reports also suggest the brand to increase the displacement of the motorcycle from 346cc to around 400cc since the 500cc Thunderbird series has been recently discontinued in India.
