Royal Enfield launched the BS6-compliant model of the current-gen 350cc Classic street cruiser motorcycle last year at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.65 lakhs. After getting multiple price hikes, it is now available for INR 1.81 lakhs.

Most of the people expected that Royal Enfield would be launching the all-new Classic model before April 2020, but the brand upgraded the existing model to meet the BS6 emission norms as they need some more time to test the next-gen Royal Enfield Classic 350.

As per the spy photos, the upcoming model features a round headlight and still carries the chrome cap that is seen on the first-generation model. The indicators feature yellow caps while the tyre and suspension setup looks more or less similar to the current-gen model of the Classic 350.

The fuel tank is almost similar in design to the current-gen model, with stickers missing on the test mule to keep the pattern as a surprise for the buyers. The biggest change here is visible on the engine, with an all-new design and compact placement of the components.

The kick-starter goes missing while the brake lever is now a different unit with a chopper-like design. The next-gen model of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 features a different rear seat design, a practical grab rail, and new tail light. The model is equipped with a new frame instead of the current-gen model’s single downtube unit. This change could drastically reduce vibrations.

The spy photo of the next-gen Royal Enfield Classic 350 with a semi-digital instrument console clearly shows a departure from the old-gen design through the addition of a digital display to the centre pod.

The upper section is more or less similar to the older Classic, adding an extension in the form of a rectangular digital display that can feature all the important additions like the odometer, trip meter, fuel level indicator, clock and much more. As per the latest details available, the new model of Classic 350 will also come featured with the brand’s Tripper Navigation system.

The new engine and frame combination will focus on ride comfort while switching the side for the chain and brakes will also play its role in the same. The updated model of Classic 350 is expected to launch in the Indian markets in the coming months.

Mechanically, the next-gen Royal Enfield Classic 350 will come powered by the Meteor 350’s air-cooled 349cc engine, which is good for a maximum power of 20.2 HP along with a peak torque of 27 Nm. The engine will remain mated to a 5-speed transmission.

Once launched, the new-gen Classic 350 would be competing with the likes of Jawa Classic 300, Mahindra Mojo 300, Honda Highness CB350, Benelli Imperiale 400, and the Bajaj Dominar 400. As far as the pricing is concerned, the next-gen model of the Classic is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 1.80-1.90 lakhs.
