The latest spy shots of the upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 have revealed that the motorcycle will also be available with alloy wheels which have a two-tone finish and an overlapping flower petal design. We expect the cruiser to be launched soon, as testing has recently intensified and the latest photos feature the production-ready version of the upcoming motorcycle.
Royal Enfield is currently working on three new cruisers based on the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 platforms and powertrains. The Super Meteor, Thunderbird X 650, and the recently spotted Shotgun 650 are among them.
While all three are cruisers, their designs differ to differentiate them. The SG650 concept shown at the EICMA show last year inspired the design of the Shotgun. It has a Scram 411-style front headlight visor and USD forks up front. The driver and pillion seats are separate and pinned to the chassis.
The bike has traditional mudguards and not too many body panels. There are bar-end mirrors, and the twin-pod instrument console is from the Meteor 350. The front rake angle appears to be excessive, and this will not be an easily moveable bike in city traffic. Teardrop-shaped tank, on the other hand, appears to be quite large. They equipped the test mule with a crash guard and auxiliary lights.
The 650cc oil-cooled parallel-twin short-stroke engine produces 47 HP and 52 Nm and is coupled to a 6-speed transmission. Aside from that, Royal Enfield is preparing to launch the much-anticipated Hunter 350 on August 4th. According to reports, the Hunter will be the cheapest bike in Royal Enfield’s portfolio, with an ex-showroom price of around Rs. 1.3 to 1.4 lakhs, which is around Rs. 10,000 less than the current cheapest Royal Enfield Bullet series.
