Launched in November 2018, the Royal Enfield 650 Twins have seen outstanding demand considering their affordable price tags and retro designing, leading to an extended waiting period for the deliveries. At present, the waiting period stands at 3-6 months across the country in addition to a few extra days when it comes to different dealership locations.

Royal Enfield 650 Twins Production Increased to Meet High Demand[/caption]
In order to axe the higher waiting time, the brand has increased production of the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 from 2500 units per month to 4000-5000 units a month. The delivery periods for both the cruisers remain the same even though the demand for Interceptor 650 is quite higher than its sibling. Royal Enfield’s Oragadam plant also experienced workers' strike in the month of February, thus contributing to one of the reasons for untimely deliveries and extended waiting period.
Experiencing a gradual increase in the number of units sold for the 650 Twins, the brand was able to sell more than 1445 units in the month of February 2019. Powering the Royal Enfield 650 Twins is a 648cc, parallel twin cylinder, air-cooled engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 47 HP at 7,250 rpm and an utmost torque of 52 Nm at 5,250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
