Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 500 has been launched in India for INR 2.07 Lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi). It is a slightly different version of the regular Bullet 500. Royal Enfield is promoting the Trials variant for those who need Scrambler-style riding and confidence in owning a Bullet motorcycle at the same time. The changes are limited to the component list only as engine and output values are the same as the regular 499cc engine in the company lineup.
Bullet Trials 500 is available with a highlighted frame, painted with precision to keep the legacy of the nameplate alive for the upcoming buyers. The factor that attracts every eye is the use of a raised exhaust system that facilitates the rear wheel travel by not scrapping the body against any surface. The rear springs are left chrome as all other Bullet variants while the front and rear fenders feel inspired from the Bullet ES variant with typical chrome finish.
The headlight is seen with a cover while rear seat goes missing in favour of this functional rack that can hold a full sized bag with the help of a tying rope. Still, those who favour long distance travels instead of the Scrambler riding position and dual-purpose tires can prefer going for the Thunderbird series.
The 499cc, single cylinder engine on the motorcycle is good for 27.2 HP and 41.3 Nm. The output is effective for riding within the decent rpm range. The Trials nameplate has been operational from 2009 in the international markets, sold as a separate kit for those who wish to take their Bullet motorcycles into the off-road action. The India-spec Bullet Trials 500 is seen with a different fuel tank highlights in comparison to the regular version, bringing a Classic 500-inspired side profile for the motorcycle. The gearbox stays 5-speed on the entire 499cc Royal Enfield lineup.
