Royal Enfield Classic 350 Catches Fire & Explodes Like A Bomb

A video of a Royal Enfield motorcycle exploding into a massive ball of fire is circulating on social media platforms. As per the sources, the mishap took place in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, where the bike was parked outside a temple.

The guy named Ravichandra rode his Royal Enfield Classic 350 nonstop from Mysuru (approximately 387 kilometres away) to the Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy temple in the Guntakal Mandal. Shortly after the motorcycle owner stepped inside the temple, the explosion happened.

As we see in the video, people who were around during the incident got shocked as the flames started coming out of the bike and the fuel tank exploded like a bomb. They put out the fire by pouring water on the motorcycle, and thankfully no one was hurt in the incident. It's also worth noting that such an occurrence was unusual for Royal Enfield, particularly Classic.

If we talk about the new version of RE Classic 350, launched in September 2021, the motorcycle is the second model built on Royal Enfield’s new J-Platform. The brand has offered the bike in five variants and 11 gorgeous colours.

Besides this, Royal Enfield has enriched the top-spec variants with a Tripper Navigation pod that offers Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation features. This method works when connected to the Royal Enfield app and uses Google Maps data. However, it does not provide any call or SMS notifications.

Powering the Classic 350 is a BS-VI compliant, 349cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine that uses an electronic fuel injection system. The pushrod-valve system of the original Classic has been replaced by a SOHC two-valve head, and the engine remains air-cooled. This engine is mated with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox and is capable of churning out 20.2 BHP of max power at 6100 rpm and 27 Nm of max torque at 4000 rpm.
