Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 ADV Colour Options Rendered

RE Himalayan was first showcased as a concept in 2015 and then released in 2016 and with time, its demand grew not just in India but in the world as well. RE is in the works of developing a 2nd-Gen Himalayan and many spy shots have been making rounds on the internet.

Pratyush Rout recently created a digital rendering of the Himalayan 450 from those spy shots with a fair bit of updates. The render shows it as a typical ADV bike with a large windscreen, a front beak, a tall stance and a large luggage rack at the rear. The artist tried to keep the RE Himalayan DNA intact, although there are many noticeable variations.

The digital artist added a reshaped fuel tank which seems to be larger than the current model, the split seat unit seems to be revised and the exhaust is a black short bottle-shaped, the riding triangle appears different, the handlebar is taller and pulled toward the rider and the centrally mounted footpegs, circular headlamp, LED tail lamp with LED indicators.

The forthcoming Himalayan 450 supposedly will get a newly developed 450cc engine, because of the lack of details, max power and max torque output is unknown, but it is expected to reach 40 bhp and 45 Nm, respectively. Unlike the off-road-oriented Himalayan 411 (5-speed gearbox), we expect the Himalayan 450 to host a 6-speed gearbox.

Electronic packages like ride-by-wire, riding modes, and tripper display for Bluetooth connectivity along with navigation are expected to make it to the Himalayan 450. As one can see in the rendered photos, the bike has got a tubular frame for mounting luggage and a front beak to complete the ADV-tourer look. The seat looks to be a split-unit and seems comfortable. The rider’s triangle seems different from the current Himalayan, and the footpegs of the Himalayan 450 seem a bit to the rear.

In terms of suspension, we see it with the Upside-Down forks in the front and a mono-shock absorber at the rear, likely to get nimble handling. The price and the launch date are unknown at the moment, but we expect it to be around the festive season. There is also some speculation regarding the discontinuation of the current-gen motorcycle after the launch of the RE Himalayan 450 as it is supposed to be a more powerful and better-equipped machine.
