Royal Enfield has developed a new platform to build bikes with sophisticated features to compete with global bikes and it is codenamed K1. As per the sources, the first bike to be produced on this platform is an adventure bike called the Himalayan 450. Here we have the rendered image of the prototype of the upcoming bike. This rendering was made by Bikewale, and from this image, we can get some indications of the design and styling of the bike.
As per the image, powering the bike is a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which will generate around 40-45 Bhp. According to the sources, Royal Enfield is focusing on a strong low and mid-range, which is essential for adventure motorcycles. We don’t have the torque figures at the moment but will share them with you as soon as we get them from the brand.
Speaking of the design and styling of the forthcoming bike, the Himalayan 450 is going to have an all-new design language, but while checking closely, we found that it draws design inspiration from the Himalayan 411. To illustrate, the frame that connects the fuel tank to the headlamp unit gives off an authentic Himalayan vibe. The circular headlamp is also reminiscent of the Himalayan. Now, if you look at the spoke wheels, they are identical to the ones on the oil-cooled Himalayan.
The Himalayan 450, as seen in this image, is built around a trellis frame, and we’re hoping it won’t be as heavy as the current model. Because the Himalayan 450 will be positioned as a hardcore middleweight ADV, there are a few features that could make this bike very exciting. When it comes to comfort and seating ergonomics, the centre-set pegs, the long single-seat, and the easy-to-reach handlebar make it appear comfortable. As far as its launch is concerned, we can expect the bike to hit the Indian roads in the first quarter of 2023.
