Royal Enfield Himalayan has been subjected to major criticism ever since its initial launch. The buyers faced multiple issues with the motorcycle in terms of broken chassis, footpegs falling off, rusting and other manufacturing defects.
The brand has been conveyed through a petition started by RE Himalayan riders some time ago where they asked the brand to take care of the defects. According to a recent video received by us from a Maxabout enthusiast, it seems like the quality issues still exist with the Himalayan adventure motorcycle.
As you can see in the recent video, the Royal Enfield Himalayan broke in two parts. The rider was cruising through the roads of Leh and Ladakh when the accident occurred. The chassis of the motorcycle suddenly broke causing the rider to fall off drastically while riding.
Since he was wearing protecting riding gear, the effects from the fall were minimum. According to the received video, the bike’s half-duplex split cradle chassis fell off when it was running at the highest speed. As seen in the video, the rider also pointed out the welding defects in the motorcycle that caused the bike to be torn in half.
We are not yet sure of the actual cause of the situation. The motorcycle might have a weak chassis due to being a neglected rented property or the rider might have hit a large pothole while the bike chassis was not able to handle the impact.
Whatever the cause may be, the motorcyclists across the country have had similar situations in the past as well. It is high time that the brand takes these manufacturing defects in their pride and solve the issues being faced by the Royal Enfield Himalayan riders.
To recall your memory, the RE Himalayan has been recently updated by the brand with a 2-channel ABS unit. The motorcycle is powered by 411cc, air-cooled engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 24.5 bhp at 6500 rpm and a peak torque of 32 Nm at 4250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The motorcycle is available in India at a price tag of INR 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
