Royal Enfield Himalayan has finally launched in the country for INR 1,55,545 (Ex-showroom Mumbai). The motorcycle presents a one of its kind machine with loads of practicality and adventure filled DNA for those who are willing to leave the gentle roads for their inner satisfaction. No other product in this price range can beat the off-road character of Himalayan and thus, Royal Enfield has an Ace on its side.

On-road Price of RE Himalayan:

  • Pune: Rs 1,70,362
  • Navi Mumbai: Rs 1,71,065
  • Chennai: Rs 1,75,840
  • Hyderabad: Rs 1,76,580
  • Mumbai: Rs 1,78,872
  • Bangalore: Rs 1,84,316
  • Kolkata: Rs 1,81,517

Royal Enfield has not announced the price of Himalayan for Delhi. It is now confirmed that Himalayan won’t be available in Delhi due to some pollution norms. This is what RE has to say: “The Royal Enfield Himalayan has been registered across all states in India and will be available across the country in a phased manner. In Delhi as of now the Himalayan is not being registered as the NGT decision came in last minute. It is available in NCR for test rides and bookings We are working with the authorities to resolve this situation along with several other manufacturers who are facing the same issue”

Losing the thump character, the Himalayan starts a new league with it’s 411cc, 1-cylinder engine producing 24.5 Bhp @ 6500 rpm and 32 Nm @ 4000-4500 rpm. The gearbox is again the conventional 5-speed unit while the Himalayan offers a variety of accessories for off-road and adventure time assistance. Weighing around 182 kg, the bike carries a 15 liter fuel tank and a provision for mounting fuel carriers on the front. Thick off-road wheels along with luggage carrier at the rear helps it in staying easy on every type of ride.

The long 10,000 km service interval provides a stress free riding experience while it’s long wheel travel makes the place with no roads feel like home. The front wheel is mighty 21 inch in diameter and 220 mm of ground clearance is more than enough for most of the rides. Even after having these sky touching figures, the seat height is nominal at 800 mm. The instrument console features a compass along with the display of speed, engine rpm, fuel gauge and trip-meters.
