Royal Enfield is working on multiple new products for the Indian market and one of them is a 650cc scrambler. In one of the recent updates, the Interceptor 650-based Scrambler has been spotted testing on the Indian roads for the first time ever.
The test mule of the 650cc scrambler can be seen with a two-into-one exhaust header while the structure of the bike is completely based on the Interceptor 650. The new model is completely resembling Interceptor 650 leaving the exhaust part which has been updated to impart the upcoming motorcycle a different outlook. The exhaust pipe has a different shape while the length is also shorter in comparison to the Interceptor 650.
A few years back, Royal Enfield launched two scrambler models under the names Bullet Trials 350 and Trials 500, which were the first-ever scrambler models in India. But the models faced a huge failure due to poor customer acceptance.
The Interceptor Scrambler project was planned to launch in early 2024 but has been delayed by a few months. If this version is launched ever, it will be listed above the Interceptor 650 and will become the best looking bike in the records of Royal Enfield. As the prototype is based on the Interceptor 650, it is expected that it will be using the same 649cc parallel-twin engine that churns out 47bhp of power at 7250rpm and a max torque of 52Nm at 5250rpm, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox.
The looks of the prototype are inspired by a scrambler, a high mounted exhaust pipe can be noticed with a two-into-one exhaust header, probably 19/17-inch wire-spoked rims with dual-purpose rubber, dual rear shocks, small headlamp, a retro instrument console, and a stripped-down design.
Apart from the Interceptor Scrambler, Royal Enfield is expected to launch two new 650cc motorcycles in the country next year. To know more about the launch date and specifications, you can tap on the banner below.
