New Royal Enfield J1D Motorcycle India Launch Update

Royal Enfield J1D Motorcycle India Launch Update: Back on March 12 this year, we posted an article that Royal Enfield will soon be launching a new motorcycle. But due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the launch of the upcoming motorcycle has been delayed by a few months. It is now expected that Royal Enfield will launch the all-new motorcycle around the festive season this year.

There has been no official information revealed on the upcoming product though the reports suggest that the brand has codenamed it as J1D. There have been several trademarks registered by the Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer which includes the likes of Sherpa, Hunter, Roadster as well as Flying Flea. It is not yet known whether the brand will be offering the J1D with one of the above-mentioned names for its final avatar or will register for an all-new name.

Some reports also suggest that the upcoming motorcycle variant might be the lower-displacement 250cc Royal Enfield Himalayan that will specifically target the younger audience and offer similar adventure touring traits with an affordable price tag when compared to its higher-displacement version.

In addition to this, the brand is expected to reveal the much anticipated Royal Enfield Meteor 350, the successor to the Thunderbird 350 in the coming days. The motorcycle has been spotted multiple times testing on the Indian roads and features almost identical looks like the Thunderbird cruiser with blacked-out body panels and few other cosmetic changes.

The brand is also working on introducing a range of lightweight motorcycle variants for the women as well as the youth though there has been no official news received on the same as of yet. Royal Enfield has officially discontinued its 500cc range of motorcycles since they were not updated to meet the mandatory BS6 emission norms due to lesser demand in the Indian market.
