After being spotted for the first time back on August 29 this year, the spy images of all-new Royal Enfield KX650 have surfaced online once again. This time, two test mules of the upcoming cruiser motorcycle have been spotted without any camouflage.
Based on the Concept KX, which was initially showcased at the EICMA 2018 motorcycle show in Milan, the prototype model features a relaxed feet-forward riding posture, stylish alloy wheels, long wheelbase, a big fuel tank, a circular analogue-digital instrument console, and a round headlight.
Mechanically, the upcoming 650cc Royal Enfield cruiser motorcycle will be powered by the same 648cc, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine, which also powers the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. It is good for a maximum power of 46.8 HP @ 7150 rpm along with a peak torque of 52 Nm @ 5250 rpm. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox along with a slipper and assist clutch as standard. The brand is expected to tune the power output of the engine to suit the characteristics of a cruiser bike.
Some of the key hardware components of the upcoming RE motorcycle include the likes of upside-down (USD) front forks, a twin exhaust system, front and rear disc brakes, a dual-channel ABS unit, and the 650cc motorcycle will most probably also get Bluetooth connectivity and a turn-by-turn navigation system.
In terms of pricing, the Royal Enfield KX650 cruiser motorcycle is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 3.50 lakhs to INR 3.75 lakhs, while the official launch is expected to take place in the second half of 2021.
