Royal Enfield Meteor Could be the Official Name of Next-Gen Thunderbird

According to recent reports, the most anticipated 2020 Thunderbird motorcycle is expected to be launched in India as Royal Enfield Meteor, that will impart it a unique identity. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in the coming months and will feature a BS6-compliant engine in addition to getting multiple cosmetic changes.

Since the motorcycle manufacturer has ensured a tough year in terms of the overall declining sales, the brand is currently focusing on expanding its reach to the customers while at the same time planning to launch interesting new products to get on the top of the game once again.

The test mules of the updated Thunderbird variant have been spotted multiple times testing on the Indian roads in different avatars though the touring accessories are expected to be offered as an option. If the recent reports turn out to be true, the upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor will be available in multiple versions just like the spotted test mules.

The brand has equipped the updated motorcycle with a chrome exhaust system in addition to offering saddle mounts as well as a large windscreen at the front. Apart from this, the brand will also offer multiple other premium accessories with its updated range.

Coming to the other cosmetic updates, the motorcycle has been equipped with a redesigned LED headlight and taillight unit while the side panels, as well as the fuel tank design, has also been tweaked. In addition to this, the motorcycle now gets a split seat setup while the single-pod semi-digital instrument console has replaced the twin-pod cluster available in the current-gen Thunderbird version.

The updated engine specifications of the motorcycle are not known as of yet though they are expected to be revised as per the BS6-compliant engine. One can expect the Royal Enfield Meteor to be launched in the market with a premium of INR 10,000-15,000 over the present-gen Thunderbird X350, that is currently available at INR 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
