Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Launch Delayed Due to Coronavirus

The most anticipated Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has been recently spotted without any camouflage offering the enthusiasts a clear insight on what to expect from the upcoming cruiser from the Chennai-based manufacturer. The brand was expected to launch the Meteor sometime in the coming days but the recent coronavirus lockdown has made them delay the launch.

The motorcycle in all its glory has been recently spotted during a TV commercial shoot and looks exactly similar to the one revealed in the spy shots. Coming to the new features, the Meteor cruiser is equipped with a single-pod instrument cluster with an LCD panel. In addition to this, the instrument console also features a notification unit surrounding the same. The brand has further equipped a smaller unit adjacent to the LCD screen though its functionality is not known as of yet.

In terms of the overall profile, the Royal Enfield Meteor features identical design language as that of the Thunderbird X while featuring a Meteor 350 badging on the toolbox. The front of the upcoming cruiser features an almost identical round headlight unit mated to LED DRLs.

The cruiser further gets a split seat setup while the addition of alloy wheels makes it reminiscent of the Thunderbird X variant. The brand has offered the fuel tank of the motorcycle with a bright yellow colour scheme while similar coloured accents can also be seen on the wheels.

It is being rumoured that Royal Enfield has equipped the Meteor 350 with the same 346cc, single-cylinder engine though the performance values are expected to be tweaked to offer a much-refined ride. The upcoming Meteor features a drivetrain that is now positioned on the left-hand side.

Once launched in India, the Royal Enfield Meteor is expected to get a premium of INR 20,000 to INR 25,000 over the price tag of Thunderbird 350X which currently stands at 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
