Royal Enfield Not Coming at Auto Expo 2018: A recent report in the automotive industry claims that Royal Enfield will not join other brands at Auto Expo 2018. They are out of new products and that makes their decision wise as spending a huge amount would not bring them any profit at all.
Instead, they could use the same budget in product development or advertisements for better overall sales number. They are almost ready to lock horns with Yamaha India for fifth position in Indian automotive sales chart. Absentees at Auto Expo 2018 also includes Bajaj Auto, KTM, Harley Davidson and Triumph Motorcycles.
The present Royal Enfield lineup is based on three different engines and almost two frames. The most popular is Classic, Bullet and Thunderbird range of bikes, all built on the same frame and carrying two different engine options. Third engine is completely different and comes fitted under a new frame of Himalayan.
Continental GT was discontinued to make space for the bigger version coming in 2018. Fans will definitely feel disappointed as many who had missed the IBW 2017 would have planned to attend Auto Expo 2018 for Interceptor 650 and GT 650.
Royal Enfield range starts well above INR 1 lakh and still, their sales number is much higher than brands like Suzuki, struggling with commuter products and still not getting the desired results.
Classic 350 is the most popular motorcycle in their lineup, selling almost equal to Pulsar series and carrying a price tag of INR 1.43 lakh for the dual disc variant. Engine on Classic 350 is 346cc, single cylinder unit producing 19.8 BHP and 28 Nm of torque.
Every Royal Enfield motorcycle on sale comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. They may hold an exclusive event to showcase their twin cylinder 650cc products as most brands prefer doing this right before the start of Auto Expo.
