Royal Enfield Scram Trademarked in India; RE Scrambler Coming?

Royal Enfield Scram Trademarked in India: At present, Royal Enfield is working on more than a dozen new motorcycles for the Indian market. Some of them would be based on the Meteor 350 while the rest of them would be powered by the 650cc engine from the INT 650 and the CGT 650. The Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer has also registered a lot of brand names for the upcoming motorcycles, which include the likes of Hunter, Shotgun, Sherpa, Flying Flea, and Roadster. The latest one to join the list is Scram, which most probably is a shorter and more catchy version of Scrambler. Here is the trademark certificate for Royal Enfield Scram:

As per the details available, Royal Enfield would be launching two scrambler models in India – 350cc and 650cc. For now, we can assume the upcoming motorcycles to launch as Scram 350 and Scram 650.

Mechanically, the Scram 350 would be powered by Meteor’s 349cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled, BS6-compliant engine, which is good for a maximum power of 20.2 Bhp at 6100 rpm and a peak torque of 27 Nm at 4000 rpm. The engine will come mated to a 5-speed transmission.

Coming to the Scram 650, it would be powered by the same 648cc, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine, which also powers the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. It is good for a maximum power of 46.8 HP @ 7150 rpm along with a peak torque of 52 Nm @ 5250 rpm. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox along with a slipper and assist clutch as standard.

As far as the launch is concerned, the new models are expected to launch by the end of this year or in early 2022. In one of the other updates, Royal Enfield is planning to launch the new-gen Classic 350 in India very soon.
