Royal Enfield is already a very strong player in the Indian market which has achieved a sales figure of 60,000+ units for the second consecutive month. This has happened even when the brand had scored the best sales figure in the month of April 2017.
In May 2017, the sales crossed 60,000 units for the 2nd time showing a 25 percent growth in comparison to May 2016. Out of these numbers, 58,647 units were sold in domestic sales alone. This number is a huge jump compared to May 2016, when 47,232 bikes were sold.
As far as the exports are concerned, the company sold 2,049 units in May 2017, a growth of over 49 percent (1,372 bikes last year, same month). So the total sales figure for May 2017 stands at 60,696 Units, which is very impressive considering the fact that Royal Enfield motorcycles start above INR 1 lakh in India and this makes Royal Enfield the king on this price segment.
