Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Launched in India - Details and Price List

The 3rd-gen Royal Enfield’s 650cc bike, the Super Meteor 650, made its debut at the 2022 EICMA Show. This is Royal Enfield’s first foray into a low-slung cruiser. It appears to be well-received by audiences all over the world.

Royal Enfield has stayed true to its roots by delivering a classic-looking motorcycle. Swooping lines, round headlights, and taillights. Also, turn indicators and the subtle use of chrome pays homage to vintage motorcycling. The rider is greeted by a spacious seat and a relaxed riding posture.

The handlebar has been extended toward the rider, ensuring a stable riding position. Front-set footpegs reduce driver fatigue and are a godsend for long intercontinental journeys. Super Meteor has a wheelbase of 1500 mm and a weight of 241 kg. It provides excellent straight-line stability and resistance to crosswinds.

Super Meteor 650 has alloy wheels on both standard and Tourer variants. Tubeless tyres are more convenient than tubed tyres for buyers. The Super Meteor 650 has a front 100/90-19 tyre wrapped on a 19″ alloy wheel and a rear 150/80-B16 tyre wrapped on a 16″ alloy wheel.

Royal Enfield has equipped the Super Meteor 650 with a Tripper navigation screen that allows for turn-by-turn navigation. The brand is also selling Solo Tourer and Grand Tourer accessory kits. These kits increase the value of the motorcycle while also improving its functionality.

The Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 share the same 648 cc parallel-twin engine. It has a tractable power output of 47 hp and 52.3 Nm peak torque. A 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch controls power, routed to the rear wheels via a chain drive.

This is the least expensive low-slung cruiser with a twin-cylinder engine, starting at Rs. 3.49 lakhs (ex-showroom India) for the Astral version of the RE Super Meteor 650. Keeway K-Light 250V and Benda V302C are available for Rs. 2.89 lakhs and Rs. 3.89 lakhs (both prices ex-sh).

The only logical competitor is the Kawasaki Vulcan S, which costs 6.40 lakhs (ex-showroom). Bookings for the RE Super Meteor 650 are now open in India, while the deliveries will begin on February 1st, 2023. Here is the complete price list:
