Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Production-Ready Model Spotted Testing in India

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Production-Ready Model Spotted Testing in India

Royal Enfield is one of the most popular bike brands in India, and to maintain its occupancy, the company is working actively on new bikes to add to its current portfolio. And amid these launches, the biggest one could be the new Meteor 650 cruiser bike. This bike has been spotted various times, and recently we have reported that the bike could be named Super Meteor. RE already has a cruiser bike, Meteor, hence, we can safely assume that the forthcoming bike will be named Super Meteor. However, the bike will be a proper cruiser rather than a retro-style roadster trying to be a cruiser.

It is also being said that the anticipated Super Meteor 650 could make its debut during the 2021 EICMA show in Milan, Italy this month. While looking at the design and style features of the upcoming cruiser bike, the retro style is a significant feature, like all its other bikes. As seen in the images, some notable features include a circular headlamp with chrome bezel, twin-sided exhaust canisters furnished in chrome, split-style seats, a tear-drop fuel tank, broad fenders and a circular taillight. The rear-swept handlebar and forward-set footpegs indicate that the bike will provide the comfortable riding ergonomics of a classic cruiser.

In terms of mechanical specs, powering the Super Meteor 650 will be the same 648cc air-oil cooled, parallel engine that already performs duties in the Interceptor and Continental GT. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch, the engine is capable of churning out 47bhp of max power and 52 Nm of max torque. The hardware components will be slightly different from the current RE 650 twins. The suspension will be built up using upside-down front forks and twin-sided rear springs. Disc brakes on both ends will be used for braking, which will be assisted by a dual-channel ABS as standard.
