Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 ABS is now available in India for INR 1,54,547. The brand also launched the Thunderbird 500 ABS variant for INR 2,05,189. Both the motorcycles are equipped with dual channel ABS while prices mentioned here are ex-showroom. After this progress, only the Bullet series remain without ABS in the Royal Enfield lineup. They are expected to release an updated price list for complete lineup with ABS in the first month of 2019. The remaining variants of Classic series (Redditch and Chrome) will also gain the safety feature during next couple of weeks. Royal Enfield could also discontinue the chrome shade from Classic 500 series to keep the same exclusive for Interceptor and Continental GT 650. The current range of Royal Enfield products in their stock form starts from INR 1.16 lakh for Bullet 350 and goes up to INR 2.85 lakh for the chrome Continental GT 650. The ABS range starts from Thunderbird 350 while Classic 350 Signals follows next with INR 1.62 lakh worth price tag. The most powerful RE bike is Interceptor 650 / CGT 650 with 52 Nm of massive torque and 202 kg / 198 kg of wet weight (without fuel). The tyres for the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 are tube type in stock condition but they can be converted into tubeless tyres. The new born Himalayan is a better option than going for the traditional Thunderbird 350. Himalayan offers versatile riding abilities including comfortable cruising, easy city riding and the favorite part of it being where no roads exist. The motorcycle is a great combination of power and efficiency whereas it 410 cc engine producing 24.5 Hp and 32 Nm of torque is much better than the older 346 cc unit from the Thunderbird. Both the bikes are mated to a 5-speed gearbox while the Himalayan costs INR 1,55,500.
I am confused between Royal Enfield Himalayan and Thunderbird 350. Though Himalayan is a purpose built bike and TB350 is a pure cruiser but still... should I go with tried and tested one or the new born Himalayan?

Well, the bike has became quite old as it would have been used for last 12 years, which in turn means it would definitely have some flaws in its overall condition. First, you should go through basic visual inspection like body paint quality, tyre conditions, condition of the screws and the engine noise. The engine was a gem of its time and if found in perfect health, it can still thump for 12 more years without a problem. You can take a Royal Enfield mechanic along with you as they can judge the quality of the engine by simply hearing its sound and the amount of oil found leaking from the spaces.

Yes, the the thunderbird 350 comes with alloy wheels and no, the thunderbird 350 does not come in Yellow color. The shades available are; Marine, Lightning, Stone, Asphalt, Flickr.
