Royal Enfield Thunderbird 650 Rendering by RushLane

Royal Enfield Thunderbird 650 was recently imagined through a neat rendering by RushLane. The only officially claimed cruiser from RE, Thunderbird series has started showing its age with negligible numbers in sales every month. The low seat motorcycle facilitates long distance touring with its capable and durable frame-engine setup.

As Royal Enfield is working hard on the promotion of 650cc twins, they won’t miss making another set of products on their newly developed drive-train. Yes, the idea of Thunderbird 650 and Himalayan 650 went live from this belief. The only thing to be seen is how well both the presently available bikes (Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650) are priced in India.

The bike imagined here comes with wider wheels and proper cruiser style rear fender. Exhaust system is imagined from the 650cc twins while front gets a wider handlebar for the perfect riding stance. Suspension setup has also been imagined with a new Fat Boy style covers.

Rims are spoked while chrome elements stay alive on the next generation cruiser. Royal Enfield will also use the new frame from bigger 650cc motorcycles to support heavy weight of the powerful cruiser. It will be the heaviest Royal Enfield model of all time as present generation Thunderbird weighs 197 kg with its single cylinder engine.

The Himalayan 650 will feature better off-road riding equipment in the near future but availability may slip to around 2019 in India. The 648cc, twin cylinder engine from Royal Enfield is good for 47 HP at 7100 rpm and 52 Nm at 4000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The change in tune is hardly expected as they currently sell multiple models with different purposes with the same engine tune. Thunderbird 500 is presently the most powerful model for this moniker with 499cc, single cylinder engine producing 27.2 BHP and 41.9 Nm of torque. The engine is air cooled and fuel injected.
