Royal Enfield Thunderbird Ambulance to Serve 30 Areas in Maharashtra

Royal Enfield Thunderbird Ambulance is an initiative by Maharashtra government that enables a quick medical emergency service in select regions of the state. It was first available in 10 areas of Mumbai but now, they have decided to add 30 more bikes to the fleet.

This will equip them with a total of 40 motorcycles, covering 10 locations in Mumbai at a time and 20 nearby areas in the state. Deepak Sawant, Health Minister of Maharashtra, claimed that this service saved 1302 patients in last five months. The addition of 30 new bikes will help them cover tough terrains with ease this year.

The motorcycle is use here is Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 with special Yellow decals for increased visibility. It comes equipped with a huge visor, medical kit, airway management kit and trauma medical kit. Remote areas like Jawhar, Mokhada, Melghat, Palghar and Nandurbar will also get connected to easy medical services through this bike ambulance service.

Thunderbird 350 is a capable machine with enough torque to take on rough surfaces and reach anywhere with a complete medical kit. It is powered by a 346cc, air cooled, carburetor fed engine producing 19.8 BHP and 28 Nm of torque.
