This Electric Royal Enfield Bike Generates 300Nm Torque!

Electric Classic Cars, a UK-based company is known across the world for offering any classic car a 21st-century electric touch. The brand has been capable of transforming a host of high-end cars into their most suitable electric self that further offers much greener emissions.

This time, the brand’s motorcycle division, Electric Classic Motorcycles (ECM) has decided to do things on a different level and have offered an electric powertrain to the Royal Enfield Bullet. The brand has christened the customized motorcycle as Royal Enfield Photon.

The Bullet’s petrol-driven engine has been replaced with an electric powertrain that is powered by a 13kW water-cooled electric motor along with a set of 2.5kWh Li-ion LG Chem batteries. ECM will be offering the motorcycle a 7kW onboard charger that allows charging the battery pack completely in about 90 minutes.

The motorcycle with an electric powertrain is now capable of churning out a maximum power of 15.6HP. The brand has not yet disclosed the utmost torque offered by the customized all-electric motorcycle though it is reported to generate a maximum torque figure of around 300Nm.

The greener powertrain on the custom-made Bullet is now capable of registering its top speed at 112kmph while the total electric range of the Royal Enfield Photon stands at 128km. Apart from the addition of an electric powertrain, the brand has kept the suspension setup of the stock machine intact.

The motorcycle continues to feature telescopic forks at the front while the rear continues to feature twin shock absorbers. The customized cruiser features a similar chassis while the kerb weight remains almost similar to the stock machine. The brand has further equipped the Photon with a custom-made analogue-digital instrument console.

Electric Classic Motorcycles (ECM) has featured the fuel tank of the motorcycle with a “Photon” sticker finished in gold while the rest of the cosmetic bits have been kept the same. The Royal Enfield Photon is a step towards a greener atmosphere, thus one cannot expect the standard Bullet-inspired vibrations from the customized unit. The modification of the motorcycle with an electric powertrain carries a price tag of around GBP 20,000 (INR 20.10 lakh) which is far heftier than the price tag of the standard model.
