Royal Enfield Twins Spotted in Chennai: The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650 were first revealed at the EICMA 2017 and the news had become viral that year. This was Royal Enfield stepping into the big leagues. Although the India launch was not confirmed, it was expected to be in early 2018 but there had been no sign of the bikes. Until now, as the Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650 were recently spotted testing in Chennai.
Some reports suggest that the delay has been because of the company wanting to ensure the quality of the bikes to be just right and it has not happened till now. A few more months would not be much for enthusiasts who want the bike to be officially launched in India. The two bikes were noticed by a rider in the traffic of Chennai and at the NH5 that connects Chennai and Kolkata. The rider recognized the bike and pictures were taken and he also recorded a video:

In the video, you might not be able to distinguish the bikes from the ones revealed at the EICMA 2017, rest assured, there are going to be some changes to ensure that the quality of the bike remains up to the standards offered by Royal Enfield.
Both the Continental GT and the Interceptor will be powered by a 648 cc parallel-twin fuel-injected engine with which Royal Enfield aims to dominate the mid-size motorcycle. The engines are air+oil-cooled and produce 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque.
It is mated with a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. Royal Enfield wishes to rival the bikes in the 350 cc to 650 cc segment and to do that, they would have to keep the price below a Rs 4 lakh mark on-road. As is seen with the other motorcycles from the company, there are going to be some accessories which will be available as well.
