Sales Report of KTM & Bajaj Motorcycles
KTM & Bajaj Motorcycles (Sales Report): Bajaj Auto registered a total of 2,73,029 units in September 2018, including a fractional number of KTM bikes. If not counting KTM in the total number, the figure falls down to 2,68,861 units. These numbers does not include export specific production from Bajaj Auto. The fourth largest brand by local sales, Bajaj is also the last brand to publish six-digit sales figure in all months of a financial year. They plan to take the third position back from TVS but, the launch of the new Radeon may not let this happen at such easy terms.
Fight for the fifth position stays exclusive to Yamaha, Royal Enfield, and Suzuki, all equipped with capable products from different segments. Bajaj CT100 is the highest selling motorcycle on their side, bringing 89,387 units for both CT100B and normal variant. Bajaj Pulsar 150 is the highest selling variant with 64,900 units while popular 220F was good for 8,586 units in the same period. Bajaj Platina was another best seller with 67,450 units in September 2018. Apart from these, Discover, Avenger, V15 and Dominar 400 registered low sales number in comparison to their rivals.
KTM India registered 4,168 units in total sales. The number is not at all healthy for a brand which has niche fan following in the country. Also, the 350+ dealerships across India are the highest for a sportbike brand. They need to improve the number for both 250 and 390 series of bikes considerably or face tough competition from Kawasaki in the coming days.
