2018 Suzuki Gixxer ABS Launched @ INR 87,250

2018 Suzuki Gixxer ABS has been officially launched in India for INR 87,250 (ex-showroom Delhi). It comes with single channel anti-lock braking system on the front wheel. This has helped Suzuki share components further between their three bikes: Gixxer, Gixxer SF, and Intruder 150.

Gixxer ABS is available in 3 shades: Metallic Triton Blue/Glass Sparkle Black, Candy Sonoma Red/Metallic Sonic Silver and Glass Sparkle Black. It is 2nd among 150cc segment naked street bikes of India to get ABS as an option as Honda started this with 2018 CB Hornet 160R.

Gixxer ABSPriced at INR 87,250, Gixxer ABS is priced close to the dual disc variant of Yamaha FZ-S and base variant (without ABS) of Honda CB Hornet 160R. Apart from sharing ABS with Gixxer SF and Intruder, no mechanical change have been given to this bike.

In future, Suzuki might even offer fuel injection as option as both Gixxer SF and Intruder 150 are currently available with this feature. The power will still come from 154.9cc, single cylinder air cooled engine. It will be good for 14.6 BHP and 14 Nm of torque.

Gixxer ABSTVS Apache RTR 160 4V is another rival to Suzuki Gixxer. However, they have not talked about ABS model till date but fuel injection is available optionally for INR 90,490. Gixxer is currently the most affordable motorcycle of its kind and still offers almost every performance and utility feature as other bikes in its rival list.

Commenting on the launch, Sajeev Rajasekharan, EVP, Sales and Marketing, SMIPL, said, “The ABS option allows us to improve on an already exciting riding experience for our Gixxer customers. The Gixxer series is an important cog of our India product-strategy. With enhancements like ABS, we will continue to improve on the value-proposition we offer to our customers.”
