2019 Suzuki Gixxer Cup (5th Season) Dates Officially Announced

Suzuki Motorcycles India has officially announced the dates for the fifth edition of the Gixxer Cup. The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer Cup will start in the coming days and will comprise of four rounds. The racing battle will be carried on by the world-class racers on the track-inspired Gixxer motorcycles. The upcoming Gixxer Cup has been organised under the sponsorship of FIM and Federation of Motorsports Club of India (FMSCI), in association with JK Tyre Motorsports. The first round of the cup is scheduled on July 27 at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore.

The riders participating the Suzuki Gixxer Cup were selected on July 22 in a selection round held at Kari, Coimbatore. The 5th edition of the cup will be further divided into two categories: JK Tyre Suzuki Gixxer Cup 2019 for the riders of 17 years of age and above, while the second category will feature the Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup 2019 for riders between the ages of 12 to 16 years. A total of 28 riders were selected in the selection process for the Gixxer Cup 2019 while 5 of the riders were selected for the second category.

A three-day technical training session will be organised at Kari Motor Speedway for the finalised riders before the start of the actual cup. The session will progress after the attainment of FMSCI 2W racing license. The selected riders will go through theory sessions in addition to on-track riding sessions under expert guidance. According to the reports, the first three rounds of the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer Cup will be held in Coimbatore while the final round will take place at Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida.
