2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 Launched in India: 2019 model of the Gixxer SF 150 has been launched in India for INR 1,09,870 (ex-showroom Delhi). The full-faired 150cc model is using the same 154.9cc, single cylinder air-cooled engine with fuel injection as standard. The output is limited to 14.1 HP at 8000 rpm and 14 Nm at 6000 rpm.
The engine still retains the 5-speed gearbox and thus, riding remains more-or-less similar to the older version. The weight raise is very genuine as the width of the fairing has increased considerably on the new design. Suzuki is using a familiar exhaust design while ABS stays the same as old generation Gixxer SF.
The motorcycle comes with an LED headlight for the 2019 variant while independent tire hugger seems shared with the new Gixxer SF 250. Suzuki has also launched the quarter-litre motorcycle in India for INR 1.71 lakh, slightly overpricing the product in comparison to its rivals.
The SF 250 is equipped with an oil cooler instead of the premium liquid-cooled unit as seen on the Honda CBR250R and other international 250cc sportbikes. The brand is betting big on single cylinder engines and this time, the 154.9cc engine on the 2019 model of SF 150 feels fresher under the new fairing.
The headlight seems inspired by the 150cc GSX-R sold in the international market as Suzuki started using horizontal stretch on their headlight designs with that model. The crown shaped light adds some sense of bulk to the motorcycle while 100-section front and the 140-section rear tire keeps the same stable at all times.
Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 is available in Metallic Sonic Silver and Glass Sparkle Black shades. The price seems high for a 150cc motorcycle with an air-cooled engine but, most bikes are now available with an on-road price of above INR 1 lakh in India. The 12-litre fuel tank on the motorcycle is shared with the bigger Gixxer variant for the Indian market.
