A recent report in the automotive industry claims that 2019 Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF will soon launch in India as test production for both the models has successfully begun. The powerful duo is currently the most value for money options that one can have around the price point, with Gixxer SF keeping a distance of INR 4500 from the Yamaha FZS and adding a complete fairing to the package. Also, the ABS-equipped Gixxer undercuts the same by INR 9000 (approximate). Suzuki is expected to bring a powerful LED headlight, visual updates and mechanical changes to the 2019 variants of Gixxer series.
The instrument console on the Gixxer is already quite informative in comparison to the units used by rival brands. Still, the Japanese brand is expected to update the unit and bring inverted characters like the rival Yamaha in India. Access 125 is currently the backbone of Suzuki and riding on its high success, the brand can take chances with other products like Gixxer and Intruder that are already counted among the least selling Suzuki products in India. Burgman Street is another successful option from their side and tagging Suzuki as a scooter-friendly brand won’t be a wrong statement according to their present status.
Suzuki Gixxer is now priced at INR 81,550 for the non-ABS version. The update will result in the discontinuation of this model as Suzuki will produce just a single variant of the streetfighter with ABS. Also, the chances of adding fuel injection to the Gixxer 155 is all-time-high as Gixxer SF is already available with an option of fuel injection. The refined version is available with same power output as the carburetted version, but getting fuel injection will improved throttle response and overall mileage of the motorcycle. The ABS-equipped Suzuki Gixxer starts from INR 88,388 (ex-showroom).
