2021 Suzuki Hayabusa to Reportedly Get 1440cc Engine

According to the leaked patent images of the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa, the upcoming variant of the sports bike is expected to be powered by a higher 1440cc displacement engine which will be tuned to meet the Euro5/BS6 emission norms. The brand recently discontinued the BS4 2020 Hayabusa in the Indian market and the mighty machine has also been discontinued in certain European markets.

The Japanese patent office has filed two new patent applications for the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa which shows the motorcycle’s engine complying to the Euro5 emission norms while the overall architecture remains similar to that of the BS4 Hayabusa model.

The patents show a carbon fibre canister equipped on the motorcycle which allows the exhaust gases to be absorbed further reducing the harmful emissions. The patents also feature an oil sump which prevents the oil from spreading inside.

The reports also suggest the upcoming 2021 variant of the mighty Hayabusa to feature a 1440cc displacement engine which will replace the current-gen 1340cc 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The higher displacement has been specifically offered to keep the overall performance under check as upgrading to a BS6-compliant engine tends to reduce the power and torque figures.

The brand has not yet confirmed any reports on the upcoming motorcycle though one can expect it to become lighter and it will also feature compact styling when compared to the current-gen Hayabusa variant.
