Suzuki has officially launched the Gixxer SF MotoGP Edition in India with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1,10,605. The MotoGP Edition is priced around INR 700 higher in comparison to the standard model, which is available for INR 1,09,870 (ex-showroom).
The special edition model features ‘Suzuki Racing Blue’ livery similar to the GSX-RR MotoGP race bike. The motorcycle also features ‘Team Suzuki Ecstar’ decals on the side fairing along with pinstripes on the alloy wheels.
The fully-faired sports bike is powered by the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine with fuel injection as standard. It generates a maximum power of 14.1 HP at 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 14 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is equipped with 1-channel ABS as standard.
Like the regular model, the Suzuki Gixxer SF MotoGP Edition is equipped with an all-LED headlight and an independent tire hugger as seen on the recently launched Gixxer SF 250. The brand launched the quarter-litre motorcycle in India for INR 1.71 lakh, slightly overpricing the product in comparison to its rivals.
The SF 250 is equipped with an oil cooler instead of the premium liquid-cooled unit as seen on the Honda CBR250R and other international 250cc sportbikes. Suzuki is betting big on single-cylinder engines and this time, the 154.9cc engine on the 2019 model of the Gixxer SF 150 feels fresher under the new fairing.
Suzuki Gixxer SF MotoGP Edition comes equipped with a 100-section front and a 140-section rear tire to keep the sportbike stable at all times. The 12-litre fuel tank on the motorcycle is shared with the bigger Gixxer variant for the Indian market. It is being expected that Suzuki will also launch the MotoGP Edition of the 250cc Gixxe SF in India in the coming weeks.
