Suzuki Gixxer 250 to Reportedly Make India Debut Next Month

A recent report by BikeAdvice hints that Suzuki Gixxer 250 is the next big thing from the Japanese brand, awaiting the official debut in India on May 20, 2019. The only question that remains is the list of equipment on offer as the motorcycling community is divided into two different thought schools. The first view believes that Suzuki will rival the popular Yamaha FZ25 and will launch a stunning quarter-litre streetfighter with features like fuel injection, oil cooler, and 2-channel ABS. On the other side, some of the Suzuki fans are expecting the brand to launch a premium motorcycle that rivals KTM 250 Duke and offers liquid cooled engine, wide tyres, 6-speed gearbox, and USD front forks. The design inspiration for the upcoming Gixxer 250 will come from the Haojue DR300 as it is the most recent design seen for a performance-spec naked in the global market. You can know more about the DR300 here. Haojue is Suzuki’s local partner for the Chinese market. The motorcycle can share exactly the same design if Suzuki has no plans to bring the twin-cylinder performance motorcycle to India. Most parts will be shared with the younger Gixxer if planned rival stays Yamaha FZ25 in the country. The only feature that will arrive for sure is fuel injection and thus, pricing the motorcycle under INR 1.40 lakh is only possible with an oil-cooled unit. The brand will need to skip the premium features for this placement or otherwise, the next rival would be the KTM Duke 250, priced at INR 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom, with ABS). The current generation Suzuki lineup is available with just 150cc options before jumping to the big bikes section.
