Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 Race Bike Officially Unveiled

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 race bike has been officially unveiled at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam, Coimbatore. Based on the MotoGP edition, the race bike has been specifically designed to compete in the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 One Make Championship. In addition to this, some of the selected participants of the Gixxer cup will also get to ride the SF 250 race bike at JK Tyre championship at the Buddh International Circuit in November this year.

Coming to the major changes, the track-only motorcycle features race centric enhancements that will allow the rider to handle it well on the track. Though the key engine specifications remain the same, the brand has equipped the race bike with a new free-flow exhaust system. Apart from this, the ECU and the gear ratios remain the same as that of the stock motorcycle.

As per the reports, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 race bike has not been tested on the track as of yet though one can expect a jump in the power by 3-5 HP. The brand has gotten rid of 20kgs of the kerb weight of the stock motorcycle to create this race machine. The removal of the exhaust has led to 5kgs drop in the weight while another 15kgs has been shed by the removal of the headlight, rearview mirrors, saree guard, rear fender, and the turn signals.

The lower-set clip-on handlebars further improve the race-specifics while the increased payload on the front and rear suspension make it the best contender for the track. The performance of the Gixxer SF 250 race bike has been further improved by the removal of ABS as well as from the use of braided brake lines that reduces the brake fade. The motorcycle has also been equipped with Metzeler Sportec M7 tyres for a stronger grip on track while the repositioned footpegs offer more track specific position to the rider.
