The design patent images for the Suzuki GSX-R250 (Gixxer 250) have revealed almost everything in terms of design of the motorcycle. The quarter liter motorcycle is expected to be an India-centric product while its development is still on the way in Japan. The design of the bike looks outstanding and this may be another lethal weapon from Suzuki against the bikes in this segment like Honda CBR250R and KTM RC 200.
The single headlamp design of Gixxer 250 resembles that of the liter class Suzuki motorcycle while the side fairing looks fresh and sharply attractive. The exhaust design actually adds icing to the cake as its short length and perfect width would make it feel better than most bikes of this class. The handlebar height is fairly good for a sport bike, revealing the hidden touring character of the bike.
Suzuki GSx-R250’s engine is expected to stay 250cc single cylinder producing around 25-28 BHP and 22-25 Nm of torque. The exact values would only be revealed at the time of its launch. The engine would be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle can be locally produced in India while the chances of CKD being low in this case.
Gixxer 250 is expected to cost around INR 1,50,000-1,65,000 in the Indian market. The key rivals of the bike would be Honda CBR250R, KTM RC 200, and the upcoming Kawasaki Ninja 250 SL and Hero HX250R. Provision of safety features like ABS would be given on the GSX-R250 while its front and rear disc brakes are expected to return the best in class braking power.
