Top 10 best selling bikes in 250cc-500cc segment saw the dominating Royal Enfield bikes take up a considerable chunk in terms of total volume. Out of total 72,891 units sold by these top 10 bikes, Royal Enfield bagged 68,014 units by the four products. The value equates to 93.3% of the total number of units sold in August 2018. Even if we add the numbers from products that could not make into this list, a number bigger than 90% is sure for Royal Enfield. Classic series scored 46,268 units while Bullet and Thunderbird series were good for 13,407 and 7,801 units respectively.
Yamaha FZ25 was brave enough to break the spell, getting 1,763 buyers to their side. Even Bajaj Dominar struggled hard to get 1,122 units in August 2018. Both these bikes are definitely the most value for money options in their respective engine category and they should plan to lure buyer with benefits that their bikes offer in front of rivals. KTM 390 series was good for 617 units while Duke 250 could just get 571 units. Himalayan scored 538 units in August 2018, winning over two capable products (Honda CBR250R and TVS Apache RR 310) with a small margin.
Both the faired motorcycles were good for 461 units (CBR250R) and 343 units (RR 310) respectively. The trends on this list remain unchanged for a long time, with minor differences in numbers for all bikes. Only TVS Apache RR 310 and Honda CB250R is dealing with sales issues from last few months.
