Top 10 Best-Selling 2-Wheelers in India (August 2017)

August 2017 was a miraculous month for two wheeler brands in India. Numbers seen on this top 10 list are absolutely stunning and for some change, few well known bikes are now missing from this list. Reason seems simple as they were unable to gain numbers at a pace which was shown by few products in the lower half of top 10 list. Still, they never lost anything and will remain favorite among buyers of their respective segments. Here are the statistics for top 10 best selling two wheelers for August 2017.

Honda Activa is the Best-Selling Scooter in India

Honda Activa came first with 3,35,595 units for this 31 day period. This equates to more than 10,825 units of sale each day. If we suppose 10 hours of dealership operations on average, it equates to around 1082 units of sale every hour or 18 Activa’s being sold every minute.

Feels like buyers and dealers have high levels of understanding. Hero Splendor stood second with 2,42,431 units in August 2017, witnessing the biggest gap it ever had with Honda Activa. Still, going by the same equation as Activa, Splendor was good for 13 units of sale on average every minute.

Hero Splendor is the Best-Selling Bike in India

Hero HF Deluxe came third with 1,61,177 units for August 2017. It was the last product to score six digit sales number as Honda CB Shine was good for 94,748 units and came fourth among top 10 selling two wheelers in India.

Hero Passion followed close and sold 93,003 units in August 2017. TVS XL Super came sixth with 81,919 units while Jupiter from the same manufacturers was good for 81,277 units. This is even the best ever sale number of a Honda Activa rival. Hero Glamour followed close at 80,106 units.

Top 10 Best Selling 2-Wheelers in India (August 2017)

  1. Honda Activa – 3,35,595
  2. Hero Splendor – 2,42,431
  3. Hero HF Deluxe – 1,61,177
  4. Honda CB Shine – 94,748
  5. Hero Passion – 93,003
  6. TVS XL Moped – 81,919
  7. TVS Jupiter – 81,277
  8. Hero Glamour – 80,106
  9. Bajaj Pulsar – 58,795
  10. Bajaj CT 100 – 57,561

A sudden fall can be seen next two products, bringing Bajaj Auto some positive hope through 58,795 (Pulsar Series) and 57,561 (CT100) units. The presence of last product with more than 50,000 units of sale forced TVS Apache and Royal Enfield Classic from getting a place inside this list.

However, both will surely make into top 15 with ease as overall brand sales saw positive growth trends among both brands. If compared with sales report of August 2016, all ten products are exactly the same while only change witnessed was reshuffling of each with variation in demand.
