2018 brought some iconic motorcycles into India and most of them were exclusively tagged for the country. The range of new bikes start from the 125cc Duke and goes up to Suzuki GSX-S750. However, certain litre-class and expensive products were left out of the list for their slow-selling nature. The list features the products in the same order as they were launched in the country. 1) Yamaha R15 V3
The most awaited Yamaha motorcycle of 2018 was launched on February 7 for INR 1.25 lakh. As the brand is known to offer an improved version after a fixed period, the third-gen R15 was seen with a digital console, slipper clutch, and more power than ever.
2) Honda xBlade
xBlade 160 was introduced in India for INR 78,500 on March 13. It is undoubtedly the most good-looking motorcycle available under INR 80,000 in India. The new xBlade seems like a replacement for the aging Unicorn 160.
3) TVS Apache RTR 160 4V
The launch of Apache 160 4V on March 14 gave a new rival to the existing streetfighter range. It was launched for INR 81,490 and came in three different variants. The launch of Apache 4V has made the fact clear that regular version will soon be phased out.
4) Suzuki GSX-S750
The middleweight streetfighter was launched on April 24 for INR 7.45 lakh. The only performance motorcycle listed here, GSX-S750 is a popular name among premium motorcycle lovers of India. Suzuki didn’t launch an all-new bike in 2018 in the local production range.
5) Hero Xtreme 200R
July 5 marked an important day for Hero MotoCorp as Xtreme 200R was listed on the official website for INR 88,000. The motorcycle took a few weeks to become a success story as Xtreme series now posts almost 4 times the number than usual.
6) BMW G310 Twins
The launch of BMW G310R and G310GS on July 18 for INR 2.99 lakh and INR 3.49 lakh excited the biking community for a short while. The motorcycles offer exceptional quality but demand a lot more in terms of maintenance cost than usual 300cc bikes.
7) Kawasaki Ninja 300 ABS
The made-in-India Ninja 300 was launched with ABS on July 20 for INR 2.98 lakh. The best sportbike in the lightweight twin cylinder segment, Ninja 300 rivals Yamaha R3 and Benelli 302R in India.
8) 650cc Royal Enfield Twins
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 were made official on November 14 for INR 2.50 lakh and INR 2.65 lakh respectively. The revolutionary bikes use a 648cc, twin-cylinder engine producing 52 Nm of massive torque.
9) Jawa Motorcycles
November 15 surprised everyone as the introduction of Jawa 300 and 42 for INR 1.64 lakh and INR 1.55 lakh soon changed the way buyers looked at retro-modern products. The price is purely acceptable as Mojo comes out ABS for a much bigger tag.
10) KTM 125 Duke
The most-affordable KTM Duke of all time, the 125cc Duke launched in India on November 26 for INR 1.18 lakh. The most powerful 125cc motorcycle of India is good for 14.5 PS and 12 Nm of torque. It even comes with single channel ABS as standard. Apart from the 125 Duke, Bajaj also updated the Avenger 220 series and replaced the 150cc Street with Avenger 180 Street.
