2) Honda CB Hornet 160R
Honda’s recent entry into the street fighter 150cc category made considerable impact on the sales of other bikes on this list. CB Hornet 160R is the first product from the brand which actually has the ability to influence buyers who are looking for a sport bike as all other products in the recent past were commuter focused in terms of performance and design.
The motorcycle is powered by a 162.71cc engine, re-tuned from the Unicorn’s configuration to produce 15.66 BHP and 14.76 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox while the only drawback being its heavy 142 kg of weight. Even the faired Gixxer SF and Fazer weighs 139 and 137 kg respectively.

3) Yamaha FZ16 | FZ V2 | FZ-S V2 | Fazer V2
Yamaha updated its first generation of street bikes by providing them with lighter frame and fuel injection as standard. The birth of version 2.0 of the Yamaha FZ, FZ-S and Fazer gave engine refinement a new benchmark with these bikes below INR 1 lakh. They are super good at fuel efficiency, have refined throttle response and even are good at cold starts, but on the other side the new FZ V2 family is under-powered in terms of power and torque in comparison to its closest rivals: Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB Hornet.
The Yamaha FZ V2 family uses a 149cc engine producing 12.9 BHP and 12.8 Nm of torque. All of them comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and weighs just 132-137 kg. FZ offers two mono tone shades at INR 80,196 while the FZ-S offers 5 dual tone exclusively finished shades between INR 82,259-83,259. The Fazer v2.0 has a price tag of INR 87,405, and the FZ16 V1.0 is priced at INR 74,491. The FZ16 is equipped with a 153cc carbureted engine with maximum power and maximum torque of 13.8 Bhp and 13.6 Nm respectively.

The only drawback of the series is the lack of rear disc brake option. Nearly every bike in the segment offers the same. Yamaha believes that the braking power of the front disc and rear drum is enough to stop the bike in sudden braking conditions.
