Yamaha R15 Version 2.0 is powered by a single cylinder 149.8cc, 4-stroke engine capable to generate 16.8 Bhp at 8500 rpm and torque of 15 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Due to its world-class performance and lightweight body weighing 136 kg, it is a popular bike in this segment. You would not experience heavy vibrations till 8500 rpm which suggests that the engine is quite refined. The bike has a top speed of 131 kmph and can sprint from 0-100km/hour in 13.07 seconds. It returns mileage of 35 kmpl in city and 45 kmpl on highway.
The wheelbase of 1345 mm and wide tyres of the bike are responsible for a safe ride and good grip. 2. Bajaj Pulsar RS200 (Rs. 1.20 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi)
The brand ‘Pulsar’ has made its place in the Indian market due to its affordability and performance. The new Bajaj Pulsar RS200 has even increased its brand value. This full faired two-wheeler giant features a decent styling with a noticeable busy design. The motorcycle gets the same powerplant as for Pulsar 200NS but with a fuel-injected version. Fuel-injection leads to a crisper throttle response and helps to curb the cold starting problems and also result in hike in power output marginally.
The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 has a 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine capable to churn 24.2 BHP of power @ 9,750 rpm against a torque of 18.6 Nm @ 8,000 rpm. It has a six-speed gearbox for power transmission to the rear-wheel. The bike features the same suspension, brakes and frame as on Pulsar 200NS. 3. Honda CBR250R (Rs. 1.60 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi)
The Honda CBR 250R is a versatile motorcycle due to the comfort of riding it offers along with sorted ergonomics. 4. Benelli TNT 25 (Rs. 1.68 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi)
DSK Benelli’s is the most economical offering for the Indian market which makes it stand among other street fighter bikes in this segment. It resembles a bit with the KTM 200 Duke but has a lot more to offer. Although it features a basic design but the white and red combination of the body along with decent looking alloy wheels manages to make its presence marked on the road. The TNT 25 gets its power from a 249cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke engine, liquid cooled engine capable to produce 28.16 Bhp @ 9800 rpm and 21.61 Nm @ 8000 rpm. The bike is mated to six speed gearbox and has an electronic fuel injection system for more precision in fuel usage.
The bike has a top speed 145 kmph and returns a mileage of 25 kmpl in city and 35 kmpl on highway. The TNT25 offers a comfortable riding position due to its low seat height of 780 mm. The bike features upside down telescopic forks front suspension and mono shock absorber rear suspension. The braking duties are done by 280 mm petal disc at the front and a 240 mm petal disc for the rear. The Benelli TNT 250 is not equipped with ABS(Anti-lock Braking System). The suspension abilities of the bike help in avoiding obstacles giving the rider a smooth experience.
