New Triumph Rocket 3 R and Rocket 3 GT Officially Revealed

Triumph has officially unveiled the production-spec version of the next-gen Rocket 3. The motorcycle will be available in two variants namely R and GT. The Rocket R is the roadster variant while the Rocket GT emerges as a touring based motorcycle. Both the variants of the Rocket 3 gets a power cruiser inspired design language.

Coming to the initial design, the all-new Rocket 3 cruiser features twin LED headlamps, inspired by Triumph’s new design parameters. The motorcycle features twin slash-cut exhausts, which are perfect for giving it a unique look. The short rear end of the motorcycle houses the LED taillights.

New Triumph Rocket III R

The Rocket R GT features a touring inspired handlebar in addition to the forward set footpegs. The motorcycle also features a tall windscreen at the front in addition to the more comfortable saddle, a backrest for the pillion rider plus chrome-finish alloy wheels. On the other hand, the Rocket 3 R gets a flat handlebar unit with neutrally placed footpegs and blacked-out alloy wheels.

Powering both the Rocket 3 variants is the powerful 2458cc, inline-three cylinder engine that is capable of offering a maximum power output of 167HP at 6,000 rpm and an utmost torque of 221 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by adjustable Showa 47mm upside-down forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a remote preload-adjustable Showa monoshock suspension.

New Triumph Rocket III GT

The motorcycle gets 320mm dual disc brakes at the front with Brembo callipers and a single 300mm Brembo disc brake at the rear. The kerb weight of the Rocket 3 R scales at 291 kgs while the GT version is a little bulkier with its kerb weight at 294 kgs.

The updated Triumph Rocket 3 weighs 40 kgs less than its previously available version. The recently unveiled Rocket 3 gets hill control assist, dual-channel ABS for additional safety as well as a fully digital Bluetooth enabled TFT instrument console.

Competing with the likes of the 2020 models of Ducati Diavel and XDiavel, the Rocket 3 is expected to be launched officially at the EICMA in November 2019. There is no word on the pricing yet while the motorcycle is highly likely to be available in the Indian market by early next year.
