Triumph Speed Twin Launched in India @ INR 9.46 Lakh

Triumph Speed Twin has been launched in India for INR 9.46 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle was first seen in December 2018, taking almost four months for its Indian arrival. The motorcycle may be carrying the Twin nameplate from the basic Street Twin but on the paper, it is much more powerful with a bigger 1200cc, high power engine sourced from the Thruxton R. The motor is good for 97 HP of maximum power at 6750 rpm and 112 Nm of maximum torque at 4950 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine section is blacked-out properly while the same theme moves forward to the exhaust, wheels and even the suspension components.

Triumph Speed Twin is a true Bonneville series product with round headlight, massive fuel tank and straight seat with the highest level of comfort available for this segment. The exhaust pipe is finished in a metallic shade while the 41mm KYB forks at the front are covered to achieve that massive look. Speed Twin is available with ride-by-wire throttle, three riding modes, and traction control. The front comes with 305mm twin disc brakes from Brembo while the rear end comes with a 220mm disc brake from Nissin for maximum anchoring power.

Speed Twin is available with 120/70-ZR17 front and 160/60-ZR17 rear tyre as standard. The twin-sided swingarm and dual shocks at the rear help the motorcycle retain its retro-modern character while 70 different accessories can help every rider enjoy a unique feel from the motorcycle. The most happening one of them is the tyre pressure monitoring system, keeping the rider updated regarding the air pressure at all times. The 14.5-litre fuel tank is good for a decent range while 16,000-kilometer service interval is a benchmark for the segment, with owners staying worry-free throughout the year.
