TVS has confirmed the 2018 Apache RTR 160 to be the next big thing from the company. It is expected to get an official launch on March 14, 2018. TVS also launched the upgraded version of RTR 200 in India for INR 95,185. It is now known as Apache RTR 200 Race Edition.

All-New TVS Apache RTR 160 to Launch in India on March 14, 2018

The recently spotted 2018 Apache RTR 160 was once again seen through a set of high resolution images by Sathish Murugachari. The motorcycle is production ready and even carried no camouflage at any of the body part. In fact, the band running right within the fuel tank also matches the shade used for front under-seat panel.

The use of silver on gloss black looks good and even helps differentiate the bigger Apache RTR 200 from this model. These photos clearly shows the placement of accessories like mirrors and saree guard.

The disc brake at the rear goes missing, clearing the fact that it would be the most affordable model in the next generation design language. The under seat panel looses its air intake design while the seat lock moves right into the rear fender on the new model.

RTR 200’s clip-on handlebars are replaced with a conventional unit while suspension at the front now gets black finish in place of the golden one. TVS has even replaced the Draken inspired alloy wheels with new black alloy wheels on the 2018 Apache RTR 160.

The engine is expected to remains the same as current model, further carrying an oil-cooler and a small bump in overall performance. Ace rivals for 2018 Apache RTR 160 are Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Honda CB Hornet 160R, Suzuki Gixxer and Yamaha FZ-Fi.

Apart from the engine, every part between both the bikes would remain same. When it comes to pricing, TVS would try its best to keep things under the price of Pulsar NS160, which is priced around INR 80,000 (Ex-showroom). However, the double disc version and Apache RTR 180 would keep certain price gap of INR 2500 and INR 5000 respectively from the base version of RTR 160.
